The most relaxed show ever, and maybe the most fun since the Halloween show all those years ago. We banter with the assembled crowd and realize Melodie's greatest dream- to play a Schoolhouse Rock song onstage. I swear I've never seen her smile so big. "Appolonia" features my first broken string in a JBA show, a streak I was hoping to keep for a while. Premieres of "Leap," "Racing with Satan" and "Into the Unknown" (featuring words by Melodie) all went well. At the beginning of "Transpacific" a ninety-year old guy comes up to me and starts slurring "You people are too loud... you'll never get anywhere being that loud" WHILE WE'RE PLAYING THE SONG. I ignored him and kept singing, so he went to Wendy and complained. She told him to get lost, yet another reason why we love Wendy dearly and would buy her drinks if she weren't already the bartender.
