About Me

Brady Carlson

Welcome! I call myself the World Heavyweight Champion of Awesome, which is 100 percent true. And not at all tongue-in-cheek.

By day I host All Things Considered on New Hampshire Public Radio. I also hosts NHPR’s presence on Twitter and Facebook, and maintain NHPR’s Public Insight Network, working with residents around New Hampshire to use their knowledge and insights to inform news coverage. I’m also a frequent guest on Word of Mouth, discussing internet culture, media and technology. I guest host Word of Mouth and The Exchange as well.

I also write an offbeat culture blog, LivingIndefinitely.com, which has been active since 2002. Among other things, I write reviews of “so bad they’re good” movies, find the strangest articles on Wikipedia and have two word caption contests every Wednesday. In 2010 I live-blogged every episode of “The A-Team.” That’s also the year I started writing a humor column for The Concord Insider. In 2011 I set up the Concord Media Makers group, where creative types get together each month to share projects, ideas and maybe a blended coffee drink or two.

My current project is to visit all the gravesites of the US presidents and find the unique and unusual stories connected to each one.

I’m husband to Sonya and papa to Owen; we live on Hidden Farm in Concord, where we grow fruits and vegetables and read a lot of books.

In the past I have been a public librarian, an overnight stock clerk, a community theater director, a custodian, a schoolteacher, a warehouse laborer, an adjunct college professor, an office receptionist and a walking billboard at a plastics industry trade show.

I have a Master’s Degree in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College in Boston and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

I’m on Twitter and Facebook and Flickr and LinkedIn and so forth. Drop me a line sometime; I’ll write back.
